Dear Mother General, Dear Participants of the 10th General Chapter of the Daughters of St Paul, May the Grace and Peace of Our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all ! I thank you for sending me the Press Release and the Prayer to Mary concerning the 10th General Chapter of your Congregation. The theme you have chosen is timely and is your charism: “We believe and so we speak.” With bold and prophet-ic faith we offer everyone “the charity of the Truth.” These days, we are preparing for the Feast of the Assumption by praying, singing, and fasting. The Feast shall be celebrated on August 22nd according to the Oriental Ethiopian Rite. In many parts of the world, the Feast of the Assumption shall be on August 15th. However, in Ethiopia, we still shall be praying and singing the praises of Our Lady during your Chapter ! I kindly request you to remember us in your prayers and, please, do not forget Ethiopia which has been knocking at the door of the Daughters of St Paul for so long … inviting you to come and work in this part of the Vineyard of the Lord ! May the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church and your Mother, accompany you with her intercessions during this important chapter. Lhe escrevo recordando-me do Capitulo Geral da Familia das Filhas de São Paulo. “Crediamo e perciò parliamo” São Paulo aos Corintos. Com esta convicção forte e muito importante para a vida da Congregação como também para nós em África. Os meios de comunicação como Alberione intuiu sao fundamentais para evangelizaçao sobretudo neste nosso seculo. A minha oraçao vai para o sucesso do Capitulo que está a decorrer em Roma e aproveitar saudar a Irmã Maria. Melhores e cordiais saudações

Sovente, diceva santa Teresa d’Avila, i predicatori – diversamente dai profeti – hanno troppo buon senso. Ed è per questo che la loro fiamma riscalda poco. Ecco davanti alla Parola di Dio… vogliamo mettere da parte il buon senso per lasciarci provocare da essa, così che sia la Parola a riscaldarci, a bruciarci e renderci testimoni nel mondo d’oggi, per le donne e gli umini d’oggi. E per questo vogliamo metterci in ascolto delle estrose scelte di Dio, che ribalta i nostri valori, le nostre unità di misura. Da questo ascolto, carissime sorelle capitolari, scaturisce l’augurio mio e di tutti i confratelli della Provincia Italia della Società San Paolo per questi giorni e per ogni giorno del resto dell’avventura voluta da Dio per voi, Figlie di San Paolo, e per tutta la Famiglia Paolina, alla vigilia del Centenario della nascita del carisma paolino.
